Public Swimming in Canby: Fall Hours for Every Kind of Swimmer |
Lap lanes, water exercise, adult recreation and family swim times run through November 14 |

Canby Swim Center has a fall schedule built for early-morning lap swimmers, adults seeking low-impact exercise and families looking for an easy indoor outing.
The current schedule runs through November 14, 2026, at the pool at 1150 S Ivy Street.
With a six-lane, 25-yard pool plus a rope swing, diving board and basketball hoop, the facility can shift from serious training to uncomplicated recreation over the course of a day.
Start the day in a lap lane
Lap swimming is available Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 a.m., a useful window for residents who want exercise before work or school.
A second weekday block runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with all six lanes listed as available.
Evening lap time is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. with two or three lanes, while Friday offers a 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. session with three to six lanes.
Saturday lap swimming runs from 10 a.m. to noon.
That spread of hours gives swimmers several ways to build a routine without committing to the same time every day.
Options for adults and water exercise
Adult and senior recreation swim is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7 to 9 a.m.
Water exercise is offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 9 a.m., adding a joint-friendly group fitness option to the morning lineup.
The staff includes American Red Cross-certified lifeguards and swim lesson instructors, and the pool also serves as the home facility for the Canby Gators swim club.
The schedule is not limited to competitive swimmers; it deliberately leaves room for recreation, instruction and fitness at different ability levels.
When families can jump in
Public swim is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.
The center also offers public swim from 1 to 3 p.m. on most weekdays when school is not in session, but families should confirm those dates before arriving.
The rope swing, diving board and basketball hoop help make public swim feel like an activity rather than just an open pool.
Young or inexperienced swimmers should stay within their abilities and follow lifeguard directions at all times.
What it costs
Single admission for city residents is listed at $3.25 for adults and $2.50 for youth ages 18 and younger or seniors ages 62 and older.
For visitors outside city limits, single admission is $4.50 for adults and $3.75 for youth or seniors.
Children age 3 and younger swim free, and family admission is listed at $8.25 for city residents or $12 for those outside the city.
Ten-visit tickets and three-month or annual passes are also available for households likely to return regularly.
Check before you pack the towels
Pool schedules can shift for lessons, school use, swim-club practices or facility needs, so a quick confirmation can save a wasted trip.
Residents can call the center at 503-266-2761 for the latest information.
Whether the goal is steady laps, water exercise or a Saturday family outing, Canby’s public pool offers a practical local option through mid-November.
Pack a swimsuit, towel, water bottle and any approved goggles or swim gear, then allow a few extra minutes for changing and check-in.
New visitors can ask staff which session best fits their goals, since a quiet lap window and a lively public swim offer very different experiences in the same pool. |
